This is one of the bridal photos that we like.

THE BIG DAY is less than 2 months now. Wow!! Exciting!!

Thank God most of our preparation are more or less settled. We are looking at the finer details to see whether we miss out anything.

Thank God for all our friends and family members who are helping us to prepare for our wedding ;-)

Your love is most treasured!

Counting down...

It is only 84 days to our wedding day. That day is approaching soon! It is natural for all of us to anticipate and look forward to something good that is going to happen ;-)

Even as I write this post, it reminds me that even as Christ-followers we should always have such keen anticipation of the greater glory in future when He comes back again. The hope that will never disappoint us.

After selecting our 30 poses for our wedding album late September, we will get to see the final design of your wedding album early November. Can't wait to get hold of the softcopy of the pictures so that we can start to work on the slides and other stuff.

Thank God we were given the date to select our HDB flat after my trip from Shanghai mid November. Pray that we will have a good unit.

Love and Faithfulness

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
~ Proverbs 3:3-4

Wedding photoshoot..thank God for a clear day!!

It has been raining cats and dogs for the past few weeks. Jay and I have been praying and asking God to give us good weather today. Two days before our scheduled wedding photoshoot, we called to check whether it was possible to postpone our photoshoot but the next available date would be end October. I checked Meteorolgical services by National Environment Agency (NEA) for the weather forecast on our photoshoot date and it indicated that there will be shower in the late morning and early afternoon. Despite the weather forecast, I felt assured that God will give us a good weather.

One day before the photoshoot, I checked NEA website again. It indicated 'Cloudy' instead of shower. I was overjoyed and thank God in my heart. I called Jay immediately to tell him that God has answered our prayer. Honour to our God!!

We arrived at Jazz Bridal at about 10am to make up and did our hair-do. It took about 2 hours to make-up and have our hair-do. We had our studio shoot from about 12pm to 3+pm then we had our meals before heading out for outdoor shoot. Everything went smoothly and finished at about 6+pm and we were thankful to God for watching over us.

Along the way, we chatted and shared with our photographer, Ah Ye about God, life, our society, work..etc.

Yeah! One wedding task done - Photoshoot! But we have to wait for 3 weeks to view and select the pictures. Can't wait to see them!!!

Today happens to be my parents' wedding anniversary too.

Thank God for His faithfulness and love in our lives ;-)

War of the Roses

"War of the Roses"? What's that? Well, it's a German magazine whose target audience is the divorced. Never heard that such catergory of magazines exists until I read The Strait Times and Los Angeles Times.

In Europe and US, the divorce rate is about 50%. Wow! Quite a significant percent. No wonder most of the people in Europe do not believe in marriage anymore. Similarly in Singapore, divorce rate is climbing. People just move on the new relationships after the feelings for their partners wane and they need fresh excitement. Is love just a feeling without commitment?

I think we live in a mess-up world. People do things as they see fit. The society tells us a lot of the deep seated social problems that cannot be solved by economic progress. A modern society that has well-developed infrastructure, technology, and educational system does not stop all the divorce rate from going down. What's the real problem? Are we the problem?

This year, a few of my friends are getting married ;-) Before that, they went through marriage counselling course to discover more about themselves and their partners. It's always a joy to see couples coming together. The bride walking down the aisle to her groom. It's so 'magical' ;-p Can life be happily ever after? Wedding is a day affair but marriage is the beginning of the couple's lives together. It can be filled with love, joy, pain and angst. If both parties are determined to make this marriage works and to grow together as a couple, divorce will not an issue as it is never in their 'dictionary'. Commitment is hard and heart-work.

'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." - Matthew 19:5-6

Hee..hee...from the point of view of a single ;p

I happened to find this post about marriage, $, standard of living.
