Larkin Step - Ling86

Beautiful melody but the meaning of this song is difficult to understand. This is written by a local Singaporean, Ling86.

God he turned and walked away
I couldn't think of what to say
when plane engines fall through your roof
and I broke my knee while walking down the street that I live in
While no one was passing by

Chorus:
Life goes along and it trickles down the cheeks of every beautiful boy
Time moves along and it breaks every bone in your spine

Into the flight of night
Insomnia strikes and hopes alight
We set ourselves up to fall
So we stargaze and we write down all the things that we'll do
Fall into the river our pockets full of stones
Full of stones..

Chorus, etc.

BuSy but GrEaT weekend

I had a busy but great weekend. I attended a great concert and a good movie on the same day.

On Sunday after service, Jay and I went to Esplanade concert hall to watch a performance by the Toa Payoh Guitar Club together with Hung and his wife and another ex-colleague. Impressive 60-minute performance and it is FREE admission. There were group, family and solo pieces of performance. The chairman of this club did a solo and he can make drum, horse running...sound from the guitar. Amazing!!

After the performance, Peishan and I joined Taeko for "HULA GIRLS" at Picture House. A heart-warming Japanese movie based on true story. Worth watching but please prepare some tissues..hehe!!

Chinese Christian Song

Check out this Chinese Christian song. It's quite nice. A sister from Hope Hong Kong emailed this to me. It's amazing how we got to know each another via ICQ ;-)

Maksim..

A friend gave me CDs of Maksim. I like the classical music that he plays ;-)

He said,"I just want to reach as many people of all ages with classical music. That’s my dream."

Haha...I am inspired to be a pianist ;p

When I was young, I had a neighbour who owned a piano. I liked to go to her house to hear the classical pieces that she played. She taught me a little and I tried to play like her. My parents bought me a mini piano for children to play but it was non compared to the real one. I remembered when I was in New Zealand more than 7 years ago, a little girl whom I knew at farm stay taught me how to play a children song :-)

Yesterday during lunch, Timothy mentioned about the childhood of Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous pianist and composer. He had a violent father who forced him to play music. Well, sometimes when you are forced to do something, the outcome may turn out well ;p

"Complete" by Parachute Band

I like this song, "Complete", by Parachute Band.

Here I am, Oh God
I bring this sacrifice--my open heart.
I offer up my life.
I look to You, Lord
Your love that never ends
Restores me again

So I lift my eyes to you, Lord
In Your strength will I break through, Lord
Touch me now, let your love fall down on me
And I will be complete in You.

Here I am, Oh God
I bring this sacrifice--my open heart.
I offer up my life.
I look to You, Lord.
Your love that never ends
Restores me again

So I lift my eyes to you Lord
And by faith, I will walk on, Lord
Then I'll see beyond my calvary one day,
And I will be complete in..

I look to You, Lord
Your love that never ends
Restores me again

So I lift my eyes to you Lord
In your strength will I break through Lord
Touch me now, let your love fall down on me
I know your love dispels all my fears.

Through the storm I will hold on Lord
And I pray I will hold on, Lord
Then I'll see beyond my calvary one day
And I will be complete in
I will be complete in
I will be complete in You
