5 Languages of LOVE

The first time I (Janel) heard the phrase "five love languages", I thought it was interesting. Is there really a specific way to let someone know they are loved? Does each person really convey love in his or her own unique way? Is it possible that someone may be loved, but not feel love by another?

The love language concept can be described in this way… Each person expresses love in their own unique way. These expressions can be organized into five categories. The way in which a person shows love to someone, is likely, how he or she would like to be shown that they are loved. This is called their "love language". If the person that you love does not speak the same language as you, then there could be the possibility that one of you isn’t feeling loved.

What we hope to convey is a brief summary of the information found in Dr. Gary Chapman’s books The Five Love Languages and The Five Love Languages of Children. The objective is that you will have a general understanding of these five love languages. What language do you speak? What happens when we don’t speak the same language as another? What happens when we know and speak our loved one's language?
