Qian Hu here I go...

Yesterday was a "fishy" day. A few of us went the first company in the fishing industry to be listed on the stock exchange in Singapore. Heard a lot about Qian Hu but I never been there before. I saw some ornamental fish that I have never seen before.

Pelican-look alike fish

A deformed arowana that is not for sale.

Qian Hu breeds mainly arowanas. The prized fish that can cost up to thousands of dollars. Arowanas are divided into 2 basic categories: Gold and Red - with many different varieties. because they are so greatly in demand, the species are now classified endangered and protected. Only second generation arowanas can be traded.

Who hatches the eggs? The male or females?

Answer: The male arowanas scoop the fertilized eggs intot their mouth until the eggs hatch. They are such dedicated father that they will starve for 45 days until the eggs are hatched.

Hung made a comment about his trip to Qian Hu which I found very amusing. "When I look at the fish I wonder how it will taste like." Abraham, the fish lover, is so excited when he talked about fish and his fishing experience at the canals..etc. We have different passions in their lives that make us excited!!

After the trip, Jay, Hung and I went to NTU canteen for some authentic vietnanese food. Good food...looking forward to my Vietnam trip end of this month.
