15 Nov 05 - Chek Jawa
Today is my first day of OJT as Chek Jawa volunteer guide. Volunteers for Chek Jawa has to go through 3 on-job-trainings and 3 workshops before they are assessed to be ready to guide. A volunteer needs to serve 4 times in a year.
As it is my first time to Chek Jawa as well, I followed Alan, the veteran guide. I will be his assistant ;p
Chek Jawa is at the eastern side of Pulau Ubin and we took a van ride and then walked to Chek Jawa. We can only visit Chek Jawa when it is low tide thus the date and time to visit Chek Jawa is largely affected by the tide and the weather. When it rains, there will not be much marine life to see. Introduction to Chek Jawa
Thank God for the great weather. We are able to see a lot of marine life today.

Thanks for sharing the story about your experience on Chek Jawa. And glad to hear you're part of the Ubin volunteer team!
I've posted a link to your story from the focus ubin website that hopes to highlight ubin as the last unspoilt island in Singapore
